Join Galah’s Annabelle Hickson and Sarah Barrett for an adventure in Central Australia unlike any other.
For four days and three nights we will immerse ourselves in the world of botanical illustrator, anthropologist, gardener and activist Olive Pink.
We’ll camp under the stars outside of Alice Springs (Mparntwe) and through opera, art and friendship, we’ll learn all about this remarkable woman, and no doubt a bit about each other too.
All you have to do is get yourselves to Alice Springs. We’ll then whisk you away to our camp, in a private location just outside of town. From there we will set out on walks, excursions to art centres and historical sites, dining under the stars and of course a night out at the Olive Pink Opera.
There will be a maximum of 20 guests. Please note that this is not glamping. It is good, basic camping in tents with comfortable linen, stretcher beds or, if you prefer, cosy swags. We’ll have a camp kitchen with a cook to cater for us and a billy always on the boil.
This is a trip for people who love the idea of camping and love the idea of not having to set up camp themselves even more. The camp will be fully set up prior to your arrival.
Highlights(a detailed itinerary will be confirmed closer to the date):
A full day excursion to Hermannsburg and the West MacDonnell Ranges.
Visits to the Olive Pink Botanical Gardens, the Araluen Arts Centre, Simpson’s Gap and more.
We’ll hear from experts about geology, botany, history & culture.
Premium tickets to the Olive Pink Opera, where we’ll meet composer
Emerita Professor Anne Boyd AM.
A special bush foods dinner.
Unfortunately this is anon-refundabletrip. In the circumstances, we highly recommend comprehensive travel insurance. Some reputable providers include: Covermore, Qantas, Allianz, major health fund providers.
Please also note that, given the nature of the trip and the fact that we will be visiting remote areas, we require that all guests be fully up to date with their COVID vaccination.
